1. Introduction
2026 Asian Modern Agricultural Inputs Exhibition & Application Technology Exchange Conference (Vietnam)，is jointly organized by the China Crop Protection Industry Association, the China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association and the China Seed Trade Association, aiming to create a one-stop platform for the exchange and procurement of modern agricultural inputs in Asia. This exhibition is held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, covering an exhibition area of 4,000 square meters. The exhibition features a wide range of agricultural inputs including pesticides, fertilizers, agricultural machinery and seeds.
The event has received high attention from the Plant Protection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam. It has also received strong support from the Vietnam Pesticide Association, the Vietnam Fertilizer Association, the Vietnam Seed Trade Association, and the Plant Protection Departments of various provinces in Vietnam. Several major professional associations will organize their member enterprises to actively participate and hold professional forums on pesticides, fertilizers, seeds, and agricultural machinery during the exhibition, introducing the development of the seed, fertilizer, pesticide, and machinery industries in China and Vietnam. The three associations will organize more than 1,000 member enterprises to have in-depth exchanges and connections with the exhibitors. The exhibition is expected to attract over 200 exhibitors from China, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, and other countries, and is anticipated to have more than 5,000 professional visitors from Vietnam and neighboring countries.
2. Overview of agriculture in Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the world’s top 15 agricultural exporters and a major agricultural power in Southeast Asia. Vietnam’s agricultural population accounts for about 75% of the total population, arable land and forest land account for 60% of the total area, creating 25% of the gross domestic product.
Vietnam’s official report shows that in the first nine months of 2024, Vietnam exported 24.85 billion US dollars of agricultural products, an increase of 27.7%, the export of food crops including rice, corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes and cassava, cash crops mainly coffee, rubber, cashew nuts, tea, peanuts, silk and so on. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, if the current growth rate is maintained, Vietnam’s agricultural exports are expected to reach $60-61 billion in 2024.
3. Agricultural inputs market in Vietnam
Pesticides: China is the largest importer of pesticides from Vietnam, with 18,000 tons (100 percent) of pesticides exported to Vietnam in 2020, with an export value of $223 million. Vietnam’s domestic pesticide market demand is large, and it is predicted that by 2027, the pesticide market size will reach 1.059 billion US dollars.
Fertilizer: In the past three years, Vietnam has used 9 to 10 million tons of fertilizer per year. According to the statistics of the Vietnam Fertilizer Association, in 2022, in the fertilizer import market, Chinese fertilizer still occupies a dominant position, accounting for 49.2% of the total fertilizer imports and 46.2% of the total imports.
Seeds: The Vietnamese seed market is dominated by imports. According to statistics, Vietnam imported about 22.5 million US dollars of crop seeds from China, and nearly 3,500 tons of hybrid rice seeds. Considering the steady double-digit growth rate of the Vietnamese seed market in recent years, some analysts predict that the market value of Vietnam’s seed market is expected to reach $1.7 billion by 2025. The demand for commercial seeds is likely to double from today, accounting for 70% of the seeds needed for Vietnam’s total planting area in the next five years.
Agricultural machinery: 70% of Vietnam’s agricultural machinery depends on imports, most of which are from China, domestic machinery is 15% to 20% more expensive than Chinese machinery, and the export volume of agricultural machinery is far lower than the import volume. In 2022, Vietnam imported agricultural machinery from China worth $412 million, an increase of 10.45 percent year-on-year. Implementing initiatives to develop modern, efficient and sustainable agricultural processing, Vietnam forecasts that by 2025, more than 90 percent of the cultivation of key crops will be mechanized, and by 2030, more than 70 percent of the cultivation will be fully mechanized.
4. Scope of exhibition
Pesticides: insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and other chemical pesticides and intermediates, biological pesticides, plant growth regulators and biological control products, pesticide production and processing technology;
Fertilizer: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium fertilizer and compound fertilizer, fertilizer additives, biological irritants and seaweed fertilizer, water-soluble fertilizer, biological fertilizer, bacterial fertilizer, slow-release fertilizer, medium and trace element fertilizer, humic acid fertilizer and other new fertilizers;
Seeds: rice, corn, beans, potatoes and other field crop seeds, vegetables, flowers and other horticultural seeds, as well as seed coating agent, seed processing, seed packaging and printing new technology and new technology;
Agricultural application equipment, irrigation and greenhouse technology equipment, plant protection drones and supporting products;
Rice transplanter, harvester, trimmer and other agricultural machinery and agricultural machinery parts;
Agrochemical equipment, agrochemical production, drying, crushing, packaging equipment, packaging, etc.
